No long-term contract, and why that is the honest arrangement
There is no long-term contract or service agreement to sign to start commercial work with Bentson. The schedule is tailored to the business instead.
The reason to say that first is that it inverts who carries the risk. A locked-in agreement makes a customer pay for the vendor's certainty. Working without one means Bentson keeps the account by being worth calling back, which is the arrangement a fifty-one-year-old local company can afford to offer and a national franchise generally cannot.
Practically it also means the visit frequency can follow the year rather than a clause. Some businesses need a heavier autumn and a quiet spring. That should be a conversation, not an amendment.

Three kinds of premises, three different failures
A retail floor fails at the back. Deliveries, cardboard, a stock room, and a rear service door propped open on a warm afternoon. What reaches the sales floor arrived somewhere the customer never sees.
A manufacturing building fails at scale and at the perimeter. Long walls, roller doors, floor drains, and enough square footage that a problem can run for weeks before it crosses a walkway. Access matters more here than anywhere else, and so does treating the boundary rather than the sighting.
Food service fails fastest and costs most. A kitchen combines heat, water, food and voids, which is the complete set of things a population needs, and an inspection does not care how busy the week was. Timing around service hours is part of the job rather than an inconvenience.
Chapter 03
Ants and occasional invaders are the commercial staple
Ant infestations and occasional invaders are what commercial premises call about most, and they are structural problems in a commercial shell exactly as they are in a house. The difference is the shell: more doors, more thresholds, more penetrations for services, and more of the year with something propped open.
That is why commercial work still starts outside. The kerb, the pad, the drain, the door sweep and the joint between the wall and the ground are the route, and it is a shorter list to control than the inside of a working building.
